Patch Notes for 1.2.0

This devlog will include annotations with this symbol * to indicate an explanation at the end in case anyone is confused.


Things added:

  • Text pops up when you go near things that are interactable such as items or hiding spots.
  • New anti-cheat to prevent cheaters while stopping false positives.
  • Buttons to reset key binds
  • New main menu/settings menu

Things changed:

  • All voice activated devices are now 33% likely to activate when used on any difficulty.  [old] *1 (Previously depended on difficulty. Easy: 33% Hard: 20% Doom: 6%) 
  •  *2 Ghost's spotting distance and hunt speed is now always fixed at a certain value depending on map size instead of being dependent on difficulty. Idle speed decreased slightly. 3* [old] (Previously depended on difficulty. Easy: 500 ups *4 Hard: 1250 ups Doom: 2500 ups)
  • *5 Decreased the rate at which the heart rate decreases from [old] (Rate + Distance / 1000) -> [new] (Rate + Distance / 700).
  • Made clock much easier to see if ghost is interacting with it by increasing interaction speed rate from 2.5x to 5x. Also made the sound increase from 1.5x pitch to 3x pitch. Also changed it from [old] (Seconds : Miliseconds) to -> (Minutes : Seconds).

Annotations

  • *1 The values in the parenthesis with [old] in front are from the old version, to show how the affected the game.
  • *2 The spotting distance is the maximum distance between the ghost and a player where the ghost can see the player
  • *3 Idle speed is important, since the ghost can only trigger a hunt when reaching a new room while idling.
  • *4 Units per second.
  • *5 Decreasing the rate at which the heart rate decreases means that staying in the house for long periods of time actually makes your heartrate stay higher even when not in distance of increasing/stagnating heartrate.
